The Dubrovnik chess set is based on a famed 1950 design, created for the 9th Chess Olympiad in Dubrovnik. The pieces are renowned for their simplicity, ommiting the king's cross, as well as being easily identifiable and ergonomic.<\/p>\n
This design was beloved by the legendary Chess World Champion Bobby Fischer. He publicly stated that Dubrovnik-style chess pieces were his favorite, and he often used them for his analysis and home games.<\/p>\n
